Summary:

GB/T 39600-2021 "Formaldehyde emission grading for wood-based panels and finishing products" classifies the formaldehyde emission of indoor composite wood into E1, E0 and ENF three levels, of which, ENF level is the most strict level. NF is the abbreviation for "no formaldehyde".

Which Organization Proposed the ENF Grade Standard?

The concept of "ENF grade" was first proposed by the national organization of China.

On October 1, 2021, the recommended national standard GB/T 39600-2021 "Formaldehyde emission grading for wood-based panel and finishing products" was officially implemented. The standard was proposed by China National Forestry and Grassland Administration and issued by China State Administration for Market Regulation and China Standardization Administration.

GB/T 39600-2021 "Formaldehyde emission grading for wood-based panels and finishing products" applies to engineered wood and their products, including MDF (medium density fiberboard), particle board, plywood, veneers, wooden doors, floorings, etc., and specifies the grading requirements, test methods and judgment rules for formaldehyde emission.

What Are the Formaldehyde Emission Requirements For ENF-Grade Wood-Based Panels?

GB/T 39600-2021 "Formaldehyde emission grading for wood-based panels and finishing products" classifies the formaldehyde emission of indoor artificial boards and their products into E1, E0 and ENF three levels, of which, ENF level is the most strict level. In other words, ENF level manufactured boards have the lowest formaldehyde emission. NF is the abbreviation for "no formaldehyde". ENF grade has been the world's most stringent environmental protection standard for engineered wood nowadays.

According to the experimental method specified in the standard, with formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.025 mg per cubic meter, the manufactured board can reach ENF level standard; with formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.050 mg per cubic meter, the composite wood can reach E0 level standard; with formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.124 mg per cubic metre, the wood product can reach E1 level standard.

What is the significance of the ENF grade standard for the wood product industry?

Standards have a huge impact on the quality. The higher the national standards are, the better wood-based panels will be manufactured. The ENF grade standard is currently the most stringent formaldehyde limit requirement for wood-based panels in the world. The introduction of this standard will actively promote the production of low-formaldehyde and healthier composite wood products. It promotes the upgrading of environmental protection indicators in China's wood product industry.

This move undoubtedly means the determination of China's State Forestry and Grassland Administration to improve the quality of China's wood-based panels and their products. It is a vivid example of protecting consumer rights by transparent standards.

Guangxi Xingda Chemical Helps Produce Low-Formaldehyde Impregnated Paper

Guangxi Xingda Fine Chemicals Ltd. currently has two formaldehyde-reducing functional additives that can reduce the content of free formaldehyde from the source. They effectively lower the release of formaldehyde in the impregnated paper for wood-based decoration panels, and thus improve the environmental protection level of the finished wood product. At the same time, the formaldehyde removal agents of Guangxi Xingda Fine Chemicals do not affect the quality and performance of the impregnated paper.

The wood-based panel market has fierce competition today. And consumers' requirements for home decor are also more strict. Welcome to send inquiries about the formaldehyde-reducing agent developed by Guangxi Xingda Chemical. Let us work together to enhance the competitiveness of your impregnating paper products and create a green wood-based panel market!
