Trioctyl Phosphate
Category: Organophosphates
Applications:
Trioctyl phosphate finds applications as a solvent in the synthesis of hydrogen peroxide by the anthraquinone process, in order to improve quality, increase efficiency, and make the process more environmentally friendly.
Trioctyl phosphate is used as a plasticizer in polymers such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and synthetic rubber, giving them higher flexibility and better resistance to low temperatures.
Due to its excellent flame retardancy, trioctyl phosphate is also used for producing flame retardant and self-extinguishing products.
Further, trioctyl phosphate works as a diluent for pigments and resins used in coatings and printing inks.
